2014 Bourgogne Blanc "L’Incomprise" (Monthelie, Chateau de (Eric de Suremain))

Chateau de Monthelie (Eric de Suremain), Bourgogne Blanc “L’Incomprise”, Burgundy, France 2014

{biodynamic} 100% Chardonnay

RICH & VOLUPTUOUS, LIME, WHITE PEACH, SUBTLE OAK & A CREAMY FINISH

A wolf in sheep’s clothing, this full-flavored White Burgundy is a powerhouse of richness and vibrancy. Like a female Olympic gymnast, it is spunky, strong and graceful, but technically small in stature. At only 12.2% alcohol, it is below its peers 13+% content. But you’d never know from tasting it. A wine like this is easily misunderstood, “incomprise” in French, as a typically low alcohol Bourgogne Blanc is nothing to take seriously. But one taste and you’ll know; this is gold medal worthy wine, a real “sleeper.”

Serving Suggestion:  Chicken roasted over garlic toast. Trout with a mushroom cream sauce and mashed potatoes.
