2015 Chardonnay "Traditions" (Milbrandt Vineyards)
Milbrandt Vineyards, Chardonnay “Traditions”, Columbia Valley, Washington 2015100% Chardonnay PRETTY WITH CITRUS, APPLE & DUSTY OAK. SOFT & CLEAN. After generations of farming the rolling hills of Washington’s Columbia Valley, brothers Butch and Jerry Milbrandt planted grapevines in 1997. After seeing the wineries who purchased their grapes getting great accolades for the fruit of their labor, they began producing a limited amount of their own wine in 2005. As they find their footing, the wines continue to get better each vintage. Case in point, this Chardonnay in early vintages was clumsy and oaky; now it’s a breath of fresh air in an subtly-oaked elegant style. Serving Suggestion: Crispy soft shell crab in cornmeal tempura served with really good, homemade mac and cheese á la Vin Rouge.
