2019 Muscadet "Prieure de la Fine Grande Reserve Vieilles Vignes" Cotes de Grand Lieu (Herbauges, Domaine des)

Dom. Herbauges, Muscadet "Prieure de la Fine", Cotes de Grand Lieu, Loire Valley, France, 2019

{sustainable} 100% Melon

Herbauges overlooks the Grandlieu Lake, thus the name of this cuvée. This most prestigious vineyard is the top in the appellation. The AOC was created in 1995 and represents 17 communes around the Grandlieu. Intensely aromatic with pear and white chalk flavors, this very dry Muscadet shows a bit of spritz in the mouth from the wonderful acidity and literally mouthwatering flavors. Yes, a veritable lake in your mouth after you swallow!

Serving Suggestion: Shellfish is a must, and if you dip it in a little clarified butter you will have a wine powerful enough to complement and never compete. Crab, oyster, mussels, or scallops tonight?

2019 Muscadet Sèvre et Maine Sur Lie (Chauviniere, Domaine de la)

Domaine de la Chauvinière, Muscadet Sèvre et Maine - Sur Lie, Loire Valley, France, 2019

{organic} 100% Melon de Bourgogne

Melon de Bourgogne, the variety that Muscadet is produced from, is the signature grape of the far western Loire Valley and is rarely planted anywhere else. Known for its bracing acidity, chalky minerality, crisp pear and citrus flavors, and saline edge, the best examples are aged on the lees to add body and complexity- indicated by “Sur Lie” on the label. Perfect for the beach, with or without seafood, Muscadet is the pinnacle of easygoing refreshment!

Serving Suggestion: THE perfect match for raw oysters, sashimi, ceviche, scallops in beurre blanc. Aged goat cheeses, such as Feta. Fried pickles.
