This lovely rosé pours ballet slipper pink and dances out of the glass with bright, underripe fruit aromas and a spicy herb freshness. One of four selections that we currently (and exclusively for the Southeastern US) offer from Bruyères, a fiercely naturalistic producer. Small and situated across 20 acres just south of Brouilly, smack in the center of the greater Beaujolais region, Jean-Pierre Teissèdre's estate is continuously blowing us away with value and sheer deliciousness.

Truth is, the cuvée "Prestige" comes from 30 rolling acres of organically farmed Burgundian earth and aged in oak to profound result. Yet, somehow it maintains an unbearable lightness of being... unbearable due only to the fact that they can't fit more than five glasses in a bottle!

This is Gamay to rave about! Robert Serol is a benchmark producer in the Cote Roannaise region. The estate has vines aging from five to eighty years old. All of his wines are 100% Gamay and each reflects the terroir of the vineyards. Les Originelles is the sort of wine we wish we could share with every customer in the store. Just amazingly delicious with sexy fruit, soft tannins, and a drinkability rating of 11 on a 1 to 10 scale. Bright raspberry and blackberry fruit jump from the glass. This is highly aromatic with delicious acidity on the finish. A Wine Authorities Exclusive!

Hailing from the Moriers climat (a prized cru within this possibly most prized of all Beaujolais crus), 45-year old vines struggle to thrive in the austere granite soil they call home, whose notable pink hue is an almost-visible artifact emerging through the vibrantly berryish, resplendently spicy finish. Rich and refreshing!

A newer arrival from François LeClair and his son Vincent continues their tradition of producing wines with unrivaled freshness. These thirty-five year old Gamay vines, combined with Vincent’s use of partial carbonic maceration and shunning of sulfites, come together to create a cuveé that is replete with violets and ripe black raspberries. A smattering of black pepper, sweet baking spices, and fennel pollen finish off the bouquet. Balanced and bright, this bottle will be gone before you know it.

Serving Suggestion: Spanakopita (Greek spinach pie). Cedar plank salmon w/ brown sugar-dijon mustard glaze. Turkey sandwich at lunch after spending the morning working in the garden.
