The flavors and aromas harmonize with radiantly crisp pear and citrus that dance across the tongue with sprightly minerality.

Working biodynamically for over a decade, he has both the raw materials and the vision to craft truly extraordinary wine. This Riesling sekt has a finesse and power specifically recognizable from the estate's still offerings as well as an appeal plucked straight from great Champagne or, perhaps more specifically, the Chenin-based bubblies of the Loire Valley.

Intense, modern, and uncompromisingly expressive of the gorgeous Rheinhessen terroir, the Kammerton (named for the “chamber tone” pitch of the Baroque period,) more than meets the lofty expectations of clarity and finesse previously set by the estate. Alexander Gysler embraced biodynamic farming early on, ushering in a new era of consistent quality and vintage-by-vintage individuality and diversity. “Perfection” and “life” seldom intersect, but you’ll find this dry Riesling right there when they do.

WHITE PEACH & GRAPEFRUIT, BRIGHT & GENEROUS, ZESTY MINERAL

Scheurebe, perhaps the best known among Riesling’s offspring, is also one of the most distinctive grapes of central Europe. Sharing both Riesling’s beacon-like acidity and its capacity for wines riddled with mineralistic intrigue, Scheurebe also has an almost Sauvignon-esque tinge that helps it stand out resolutely from its parent grape. This beautiful, biodynamic offering from Gysler layers elegance and power in shimmering, utopian waves of vibrant aromas and virile acidity. The cuvée’s name, “Sonnentau,” refers to sundew plants, and the wine, itself, is every bit as etherial and psychedelic in character as the otherworldly carnivorous flowers for which it’s named.

BLACK CHERRY & LINGONBERRY, LUSH & FRESH, GENTLE & LINGERING

Gysler’s affinity for assertive ripeness suits this rich rendition of Pinot Noir (in rosé form) to a T. Utilizing the grape’s German nom de guerre, Spätburgunder (referencing the grape’s Burgundian origins and late-ripening proclivities), the estate does tremendous work with the variety. Mouth caressingly juicy and bursting with intensely red aromas, this is the sort of rosé that, while plenty refreshing in warmer months, continues to be seductive throughout the year – especially as a companion for fall and winter feasts.

Serving Suggestion: Beet, lentil, & grape tomato salad w/ grilled salmon on a bed of arugula w/ balsamic vinaigrette & fresh cracked pepper. Dressing cakes w/ chestnuts, cranberries, sage, & smoked carrot shavings.

WHOLE STRAWBERRIES IN CHAMPAGNE, HAZY, JUICY YET CRISP

Pét-Nats, made via the méthode ancestrale (the old school way of making bubbly where the wine finishes fermenting in bottle), are natural, rustic, and cloudy with a fun fizziness and often a touch of sweetness. In this example of the artisanal method, Gysler’s highest standard of quality brings us a surprisingly sophisticated result. Vivacious bubbles, yeasty aromas, and grapefruit, lemon, and berry flavors that are all bolstered by satisfying body, acidity and minerality. So classy!
